About this blog:
Gold Hollywood is a blog about just that: The Golden Age of Hollywood, primarily from the 1930s-1960s. Here you'll find movie reviews, recommendations and rantings on my favorite movie stars and films.
A few off-topic posts may sneak in every once in a while as well, such as the occasional book or music post, but other than that, this blog is strictly vintage movies.
So pull up a chair and stay a while. Thanks for reading!
About the author:
Hi! I'm a college student who has had a long love affair with classic films. It all started when I was 9 years old and saw It's A Wonderful Life. That's when I remember the film really sticking with me, and I knew then that there was no turning back. My favorite actor is Jimmy Stewart and Ida Lupino is my favorite actress. I also adore Jean Harlow, Myrna Loy, Rosalind Russell...the list goes on. I'm constantly complaining that I have too many favorite actresses. If I had to choose a favorite director, it would have to be Frank Capra. I'm a sucker for film noir and 1930s gangster pictures and pre-codes. I'll watch any Hitchcock movie and Bogie and Bacall are my favorite on and off screen couple. You can probably guess that my favorite film of all time is It's A Wonderful Life.
Besides old movies, I love history (especially WWII and the 1940s), reading, vintage fashion and make-up, travel, antiques, and jazz music.
